"I figured as much, something along those lines at least, you forget I'm a cop. If you worked for a firm downtown your jurisdiction would only be good to cases around here, you wouldn't be traveling constantly." Like he did. He wouldn't get up in the middle of the night to be shipped off to some random location. It made a bit more sense then, lot more sense. Why he had to be quiet about it around her, not that regular cases weren't cause to not be quiet. But he had just been so sneaky, trying to carefully let her find out, no doubt breach of some sort of confidential contract would probably cause fingers to be cut off, well figuratively.
"Now was that so hard to tell me? You made it out like you had some gang or mafia on your ass," Ana told him, feeling quite a bit better then he finally had cleared some questions up that had been boggling her. Shaking her head, she laid back on the bed, putting her arms behind her head. "You could have just been like 'Hey honey, I can't tell you everything cause it's under wraps and I might lose my job, but I'm the head lawyer for some company'. I mean not exactly like that, but I would of understood, you know." ,,

Danny smiled a thin smile, trying to make it look an un-uneasy as possible. He let out a laugh, maybe too forced, and he shrugged. "Sorry, babe, it's, uh..it's stupid. I wasn't thinking." he told her as he packed. What little clothes he had he finished packing in silence, his mind twisting and turning over what Ana had said. He let out a soft sigh, before looking over at Ana. He could stay for a few more minutes. he silently thouht as he walked around the bed. He crawled up the bed, a slight grin on his face as he craweled up to kiss her. The kiss was slow, his hand moving down to cup against the side of her hip. He broke from her lips, licking the taste of her off them before he opened his eyes and spoke.
"I want you to not worry about me when I'm gone. Can you do that for me?" he asked her, bringing a hand up to run across her cheek. "I want you to just go on with your life...and when I come back, everything will be different. I can feel it. Things are going to change." Danny pressed his lips against hers again, a wicked smile on his face. "And I promise you," Danny said slowly, "that I'll make you happier than you've ever been. When I get back. Until then..."

A contented sigh escaped her lips as she pressed them up to his once more, content with the moment. For that long she could be happy that he was there before he had to go. The almost sweet nothings spoken, while almost cheesey her in opinion, she enjoyed, finding them comforting. Her hopes were high that things would get easier when he returned, and she would try to not worry in that time or attempt to, hopefully that promotion he was hoping about would come to pass. Work would be less rough. Time spent away would also be less then.
Until then...
Curling her hands on his shoulders, she pushed her hips against his forcing him to roll over, and with a small grunt she had reversed their positions. Instead of him being on the top, she was now the one straddling his waist, her knees pressing into the matress. Pulling her lips away, she smirk some down at him. "Until then..." she trailed off some, repeating his words, as she pushed her hands against his chest to sit herself up some. "I will still keep my promise of kicking your ass if you break yours," she told him somewhat seriously. She hated it when he broke promises, some times they would fight over it, though it wasn't something huge. But this time it was a bit bigger then the promise of 'I'll be home before such and such a date' work was fickle, she knew. This time it was more of a real commitment. Partially she was scared of what that meant. The other part welcomed it. Either way, she wouldn't kick his ass literally... well she would if she couldn't help it, really.

A grunt of air escaped Danny's lips as he was flipped over, his back against the mattress. His fingers walked up the side of her hips, until he found himself looking up at her with a slightly arched eyebrow as she said she'd kick his ass if he broke his promise. "Oh really?" he asked, feeling a smirk cross his face. "Is that a promise? Because if it is, consiter it shattered beyond repair."
He lifted himself up, scooting back so his back was against the headboard as he sighed out, looping his arms loosely around her waist. He simply stared at her for a moment, before blinking and tilting his head slightly. "Okay, so say hypothetically I asked you a question that could change both of our lives forever. Mind you, you have no clue what I'm going to ask you...but what would your automatic answer be?" he asked, watching her. "Don't even think about what I could be asking...just answer. Yes or no?"
His fingers traced circle patterns on the tops of her thighs, and he looked down at the invisible pattern he was tracing before looking back up at her. "I said no thinking." he warned, his brows narrowing before they lifted. He smacked the side of her thigh impatiently. "C'mon. Gimme an answer, plane leaves soon."

If he asked her a question that could change their lives forever, without telling her the question, what would her answer be? It was hard to not let her thoughts go into overdrive. There were so many ways one question could change a life forever. Automatically her thoughts went to what the question could be if there was one to come out of this, her eyes dropping down from his face in thought. What could this 'hypothetical' question entail? Moving in? Marriage? Kids? Something else? All of the above? She wouldn't know how to answer those questions if they were regarding that.
However, she did trust him. Even with everything he kept from her. She would probably trust and go along with what he asked, like he did with her. Probably even blindly if given enough reason to do some. But could she say yes to something to him. Snapping out of her thoughts, though, as he smacked her thigh, she shot him a brief reproaching look before she began to struggle with words. "I-," she began, shutting her mouth as soon as she opened it, taking a breath before releasing it, clearing her mind till there was one word left in her vocabulary. "Yes."

A simple three letter word. It was enough to make him smile, and Daniel knew that whatever the question was, whether it be 'marry me' or 'move in with me' or 'keep my secrets safe', Daniel knew that whatever he asked her to do, she'd say yes. Daniel leaned over, one hand steadying her hips while the other digged around on the floor for his suit coat. He blindly searched with his hand, biting his lip in thought before he let out a satisfied gasp, bringing the suit jacket up. "In all reality," Daniel started, digging through the pockets of his suit until he found the small box. "I was waiting to give you this. I wanted to take you to Paris or Rome or some place, buuuut," he drew the word out, watching as he turned the small box around in his hand. "Since it seems like I'm going to be away for a bit, that's not going to happen any time soon. And since I've already gotten the push from your mother..." his eyes glanced at her as the corner of his mouth twitched up in a smile. He cleared his throat and held the box up to her eyeline. "This is something that I want you to wear and think of me. I want people to ask you where you got it, and I want you to smile. I also want you to not tell them and to have them mind their own buisness."
"You've done more for me than you'll know." You made me a liar. "I know we've just met but...but I think there's something here." There's nothing here, you'll leave her in the end. Danny looked down and then back up at her face.
Daniel had walked through the shops and malls of European countries, looking for the perfect gift. He had found it in a necklace; a sun and a moon. As she opened in, Daniel alternated between looking at the box and her face. "I saw it in Copenhagen." he told her. "It was late...probably like one or two in the morning and yet, there was this man making necklaces for money. He told me to tell him about you and he'd make me a necklace. I told him that I only met you a couple months ago and already I knew that I loved you. I knew that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you." He told her, and tilted his head slightly. "He told me that he knew why we worked. You're my sun, you're the thing that wakes me up in the morning and you're the thing I love to watch fall asleep. And every once in a while, for a brief and wonderful moment...we meet. And for that one brief moment...everything stops." He didn't tell Ana about what else the man said. About the moon's dark side, and the only people that saw it never were able to tell and that once the sun and the moon meet...they always go their separate ways and nothing could ever make them stay together for long. It was the way of the world, and nothing could change that.
He pushed that bleak thought from his mind, silently.

Confusion swept over Ana's face as he reached over towards his bag with her still in his grasp. What exactly he had up his sleeve was lost on her, but she was eager to find out as brought something up to her sight. A box. A box probably about twice as big as a ring box, which made her want to question what was inside before he finally opened it. Another gift, she realised, part of her wished that he'd stop going off and getting her things. Materialism wasn't in her blood really, she could be fine without them. However, that wasn't the case this time around.
If Ana had been the type of person to gasp in awe, she might have. However, her eyes locked on the cargo that was nestled inside the box, her fingers reaching out to wrap around the center piece of the sun and moon as he spoke. The question of where he'd gotten it dying on her lips as it was readily answered, while he continued on with the story of how he came upon such a gift. There was nothing she could utter for a few long minutes as she stared, transfixed on the object curled in her fingers. "It's beautiful, Danny," she began when she could finally find her voice. "... You didn't... you didn't have to..." the same protest came, but for the life of her, she couldn't drag her attention away.

As he watched her stare at the necklace, Daniel ran his fingers across her thigh, tracing up and down until he heard her speak, that he didn't have to do it. A smile hitched at his lips, the edges of his lips curling as she continued to stare. "You're wrong. I had to." he told her, and moved his fingers under her chin, lifting it to make her look at him. He stared at her eyes, his fingers tracing along her cheek. The rain pounded down onto the glass, the sound sounding like pebbles. He took a breath in, tilting his head. "I want you to be waiting for me when I get back. I don't want you to worry about me when I'm gone...but every once in a while, I want you to think of me. Think of how I make you smile. Think about how I can make you moan." He told her, moving to lightly bite her chin. "Hell, I may be able to make a phone call...and if I do, I expect a full report." The power that he held over her was insane, and yet the power she had over him was intoxicating. "And you better not leave out one single moan."
Daniel smiled slightly, leaning into her as he pressed his lips against hers. He brought a hand up, lightly clenching a fist of hair in his hand. A slight moan escaped his lips, and he felt his lips break from hers, his breeath hitched up slightly. "I want you to be waiting for me when I get back because I want you to be my wife, Ana-Lucia.." The words had escaped his lips before he had time to take them back, but he wasn't sure he even wanted to. Sure, they had only known each other for months, but it seemed like lifetimes, and that was all that mattered, wasn't it? A smile hitched on his lips before he heard the wind blow hard against the window, rattling the blinds and he felt his arms wrap around Ana for a moment as he looked towards the window.
