It's Very Stressful Being an Other

No sooner had Richard (apparently forgotten he needed to post ) approached, then Sawyer appeared from the bushes as well. Nodding her head in greeting, she gave him a faint smile, "James." It was easier to just ignore his brash and blatant disregard for the moment, but he was right. If there was a chance others were here as well, it would be best to try and gather them all together. She returned Jack's squeeze and fell into step beside him, happy to just be following. Although the fact that Jack was as well, surprised her greatly. "You know Jack..." She began, slowly pulling her gaze over to his, "you shouldn't make promises you can't keep." Her tone was steady and had an edge seriousness, and she was serious, but at the same time, there was a small hint of humor to her voice. The corners of her lips tugged up in a crooked grin, and then she eased into a full smile, not wanting to distress the good doctor too much. When he spoke again, the smile was replaced by a frown. She had no more idea what had happened, or why they were here than he did, but this wasn't Jack. This man, his way of thinking, was not him. "Hey," she said, stopping, her tone firm. "Don't think like that, okay?" Juliet put both her hands on his shoulders, forcing him to look at her. "I'm here Jack. You're here. James, and who knows who else might be out there, they're here. Whatever happened, happened. We can't change it, but we're together now, and I need you thinking clearly, Jack." She could tell there was something, something else, but right now she wasn't entirely sure he was any better, if not worse than the state she had left him in before her death. Sighing, Juliet let her hands fall from his shoulders, and looked up towards where Richard stood, "have you found anyone else yet? Is there a designated meeting place for anyone else who," Juliet paused, picking her words carefully, "ended up here?" She had a strong feeling Jack needed to rest. He looked like he could use some food too, but most of all, she wanted to know what it was that he wasn't telling her.

Hearing the two doctor's stop, Richard stopped in his steps, turning around to look at the scene in front of him with mostly disinterest. Shephard was having some sort of inner-turmoil going on, which was about the only thing that interested Richard about the scene. Juliet turned to him and spoke, and he tilted his head slightly as he regarded her. "The beach. If they're smart, they'll head there already. I--"
It was then that a light wind crossed through the trees, and Richard felt his eyes close for the briefest seconds before he opened them once more, continuing his sentence as if he had never been interrupted by anything. "I have my people scanning the Island on all four corners and at the Temple." God help them if they were at the Temple.
The Black Rock. There were a group of them there. Looking up towards the sky, he saw the thick clouds start to roll in. "Come on. We need to hurry before it rains." he told them before starting to move towards the jungle once again.
"Once it gets dark, whomever we can't find, we'll have to wait until morning. If your people are as smart as you claim them to be, Jack, they'll stay put until morning."

"You know, Jack. You really shouldn't make promises you can't keep."
Any other person, he would have consitered it a slap in the face. He would have gotten angry, frustrated at the simple fact that the person had the gaul to say that to him, but as Juliet moved her hands to his shoulders, forcing him to look at her, he knew that she was right. He had made the promise to Sarah that he'd fix her, his voice firm and hard in the operating room, and he had remembered looking up to see the nurses staring at him.
And then...he had failed. Or for 3 hours, he had thought he failed, and he had punished himself for it. Of course, he wasn't perfect. He knew that for a fact from the millions upon millions of times that his father had said so. But if he didn't try, he'd be proving his father right. "Just because I can't keep it doesn't mean I'm not going to try." He'd die trying.
Juliet spoke of her being here, Sawyer was here. He was here. Kate. Who knew who else...and she told him she needed him thinking clearly. He blinked and nodded, though he knew he'd have to tell her sometime. Even if nothing was happening on the Island, the thought weighed heavy on his mind. He couldn't take to Kate about it. He wasn't about to talk to Richard.
God, that left Sawyer. Of course, Jack had told Sawyer things that he hadn't told anyone when they had been sitting in the bar getting drunk out of their minds. He had told him about Sarah. About the divorce. About Thailand.
It still didn't make the thought any more pleasant. Jack heard Richard speak about rain, and he looked towards the sky and then back as Richard started walking again. He looked over at Juliet and tried to give her a half-hearted smile.
"I'm fine. Let's go."

((is Alex still with us in this thread?))
Falling into step beside Richard when the finally set off again, Sawyer came up short when everyone else seemed to stop. Turning back around to Jack and Juliet, he rolled his eyes. If they were going to keep stopping to make eyes at each other, or reassure Jack’s sense of failure, then the Southerner swore he was going to leave them behind. They’d never find anyone else by nightfall at this rate.
The idea of leaving anyone out here to fend for themselves all night was not a pleasant one. Neither was the thought of searching for them in the rain, either, to be honest. That was one thing he didn’t miss about this place.
That, and the monster. And the Others. And the lack of cigarettes.
Alright, so there was a lot he didn’t miss about this place, but there was much more that he did, and much less that he missed about the mainland, especially after being back there. He couldn’t rightly care less if he ever saw Los Angeles again, that was for sure.
“You’re fine. She’s fine. We’re all fine!” he finally said, clearly frustrated. “Now can we get a move on or what?”
He didn’t wait for an answer before turning and stalking off into the jungle again.

(Imma here. Just lurking. And crap post. I'm sorry.)
Alex had been standing there, giving Juliet and Jack their space. She flashed her friend a smile though when the woman came back over.
"*Exspectata tergum Juliet." Alex grinned, as she played with the gun in her hands. Brushing hair out of her face, she glanced between Richard, Jack, Juliet, and Sawyer before following them toward the jungle, off to find the rest of their friends.
{*Welcome back Juliet}

Richard glanced over at Alex as she spoke, a slight hint of a smirk crossing his face. If the missing survivors were smart, they'd stay put, however, Richard knew that they needed to hurry if they wanted to find them before nightfall. Pushing the leaves and vines out of his way, Richard adjusted the gun in the waistband of his pants before noticing where they were. He had heard Rousseau call it the Dark Territory once, but the somber nickname really had no effect on Richard. The Island was home, and he knew every inch of it. So, he pressed on, knowing exactly where he was going. ONWARDS TO THE BLACK ROCK! THREAD CONTINUES HERE...CLICK!
