Short Personality description;
Ben's ability to manipulate the mind of another without their knowledge of any such mind games is Benjamin's prominent tool. His patience and ability to premeditate any event before it happens (usually to the finest detail) has ensured that no matter what happens, a contingency plan will keep him alive at the very least.
Other people are expendable. If something needs doing, and Benjamin can foresee the incurrence of loss of life, the plan will not be changed unless that person is deemed crucial to another ploy.
Any Interesting History?;
Where to start really. Benjamin's parents were out hiking, 32 miles from any town that had significant equipment to bring a new baby into the world. Unfortunately, Ben's premature arrival cast a pawl on the fate of his mother; whom died soon after; leaving Roger with only a name, his name. His life until the age of 12 had been normal. Well, as normal as life could be nearby Benjamin Linus. 12 years after the birth, Benjamin was taken by his father to a 'heyday' at a Dharma outlet and the latter was offered a job on a tropical island. All sounded swell to the father, accepting his son a place at the Dharma education center.
This submersion into a restricted and tormented life built the Benjamin Linus that killed his own father, along with hundreds of other Dharma staff under the advise given by a mere stranger. Richard Alpert. Decisions, Decisions, Decisions. Hundreds of them had been made, and this was the one Ben was sure that this one was the most well informed and justified. Since the attack, quality of life improved significantly, and each time Benjamin acted, the web of mystery expanded further and further.
Anything else we should know?;
~ Both of Benjamin's parents died on his birthday.
Four Sample Paragraph AS that character;;
[Adaptation of events that occur in LOST. Unseen events, that we know happened.]
4 Canisters. 8 Feet. 15 Chords. 16 Days. 23 Voyages. 42 Square feet.
The balloon was suspended eight feet from the ground, it's orange canopy; caught and torn between branches and gravity. Judging by the pillaged basket and the fresh mound of earth nearby, no more than one visitor had payed their silent epitaph. It had to happen this way. Just like everything had to transpire as it had. Benjamin Linus limped towards the wreckage. Not limping because any ligament was compromised, but purely to introduce the facade of vulnerability. Even Benjamin Linus couldn't be sure of observers.
Just as he had left them, the balloon's one passenger's belongings. A wallet. The non-descript leather encasement bound only marked bills and formalities of identity, resembling the original pilot. Henry Gale. Benjamin pocketed this wallet, careful to neglect the driver's license and passport that bore an opposing portrait. They now lay beside the fresh mound of earth, ready to be incarcerated with other superficial belongings.
The lie was simple, in theory. Appearing nearly unscathed, Benjamin would pose as the sole survivor of this tragic accident, and claim that the body buried was that of Jennifer Gale. The name was stolen from the deceased's penmanship found in the wallet. But Henry Gale could not just wonder into the camp. No. I cannot allow what happened to Ethan, to happen to me. The succeeding steps were instruction of improvisation, and within moments the plan was sown. A soft chilling, eerie wind trailed around the enclosure.
"Patience." There was no particular recipient, "Things couldn't transpire better."
A coy smile played his lips. Without a moments glance at the balloon, he through the identity of Gale into a nearby thicket, and headed off for the next phase. The phase which would ignite the ploy. Find Rousseau's traps.
