Talents/Anything Interesting?;
- Really good eye and memory for faces and names

- Is self conscious about his short stature (he’s just under 5’6”), and makes up for it in bravado. Ah, that famous Little Man Syndrome
- Had his heart not been into journalism, he would have made a great actor

Likes;
- The written word
- Being better than others
- Being envied for anything
- The thrill of chasing a story
- Black Licorice (what? It can’t all be about getting ahead)
Dislikes;
- His name
- Being stuck with the crap assignments nobody wants
- Being looked down on, both figuratively and literally
- Small spaces
- People who think they are superior when they are clearly not
Short Personality description; Perry is the type of person who lives for his job and is willing to do anything to get ahead. He’s a great actor, able to play sweet and caring to get people to open up to him, only to turn on them and use their words to make a juicy story. Because of his short stature he overcompensates by talking big and making anyone feel inferior to him if possible. He’s very defensive, doesn’t taking ‘ribbing’ very well and is more likely to get angry and mouth off than to laugh it off.
Any Interesting History?; Born in Lakeview, Oregon, in 1978, Perry’s life can best be described with one word: normal. His parent’s marriage was a happy one, and being an only child they spoiled him as much as they could. But while his home life was happy, school was an entirely different story, at least after entering junior high. As cliques started to form and puberty began to hit he and his classmates, his happy go lucky childhood turned to one of ridicule and hurt. If it wasn’t the fact that he was short and skinny, it was that he was a ‘nerd’. Although this could have had the opposite affect and made him try to hide these qualities, at least the ones he could, they only served to cause him to strive harder for his grades. He could never be the best basketball player on the team, but he could get the highest marks in calculus or creative writing.
This drive to prove himself earned Perry few friends, but won him some impressive scholarships which he used to follow his dream of becoming a journalist. Enrolling in the School of Journalism and Communication, part of the University of Oregon, in 1996, he was creative and ruthless, but he had been unprepared for the calliper of writing his peers would bring to the table. Although he graduated with very good grades, his disappointment and anger at being beaten bothered him so greatly that he, discouraged, took a few months off. Deciding that Oregon was far too small and uneducated to appreciate his style of writing, he moved to Los Angeles. He quickly got a job at trashy tabloid office, having been assured that in a city like LA everyone had to start somewhere and work their way up.
Four years later he was still getting the ridiculous and dirty assignments, the leftovers that nobody else would touch. And then the survivors of Flight 815 were found and he vowed that everything was about to change.
Anything else we should know?; Quite possibly, but I’m not at liberty to say.
Four Sample Paragraph AS that character;;
This was it! Finally! After four years in that tiny cubicle between Bobby the mouth breather and Tina the whore who had no aspirations further than sleeping her way up the ladder, finally Perry was going to get his shot! These people, these survivors of the fated Oceanic flight 815, were going to be his ticket out of this hellhole. After four years of dog shows and Christmas Pageants, and after practically selling his soul and the firstborn he was likely to never have, he was getting his chance to cover a real story, and not just any story but the biggest story in town!
Combing his hair back so that every strand was perfect, he was straightening his tie and looking at his reflection when he stopped. Every reporter and their mother were going to be out in their best attire, hounding these people at every turn. If he wanted this story, he had to be creative. He had to blend in, get in close. Get the secret scoop. He had to be invisible, and if he was seen he had to be just an average Joe.
Pulling the tie back over his head, he gave his appearance a nod of approval and walked back into the bedroom. Tossing the tie on the bed, he gave the file folder on his desk one last quick look although he knew every word and photo by heart now. Jack Sheppard: tall, dark, spinal surgeon. Katherine Austen: long brown hair, smoking hot, fugitive. Hugo Reyes: Tall, fat, millionaire.
Of course there were more details, more than they probably wanted anyone to know, but all he needed right now was to recognise them. The details would come in his articles. Scathing articles. The Times and the Daily News would focus on their time that they were missing, how they managed to survive and how they were all heroes.
Perry’s article would focus on the truth, those dirty little secrets. They were what the people really wanted to read. They were what made newspapers interesting, made them sell. They were going to be his ticket to the big time.
