Mister Eko saw tears start to well and Mr Shephard jerk himself away from him. He mentioned some things about ruining her life and his father of which had nothing to do with Eko. Perhaps he thought him as some sort of angel, some sort of judge who was here to make him feel bad about the mistakes that he'd made. He didn't flinch as the man rammed his hand into the wall, Eko just felt pity on the man. He was one who needed a lot of forgiveness to be made whole... but that forgiveness couldn't come from him.
He didn't expect this reaction, to be told to leave like this, after coming to innocently question the man. But Eko could assume that he'd hit a nerve, and he'd hit a nerve for a reason. His hunches about his dreams were turning out to be right and it was going to be difficult to get more answers if everyone thought he was the walking dead.
"I am not here to judge you, Mr Shephard. And I will leave you in peace. I just came to tell you that I am searching for this island, and I believe you also seek it. You can find me in the large Cathedral Downtown when you realize this to be true."
Mister Eko put a hand on his shoulder in parting. He feared what the man would do without proper counsel but it was not his place to force him to believe. He let his hand linger there for a second before leaving, slipping out of the door as quickly as he came.
