She noticed his grip on her hand had grown a bit tighter, and she squeezed his hand, almost soothingly. "But you didn't even hit your head. Didn't a tree soften your fall?" She questioned in a light tone, smiling. Normally, she used to not smile. But around Dan, she found herself increasingly happier than she had been.
"I won't let you go to sleep Daniel." She murmured softly. "And if you do want to sleep, I'll be right here when you wake up so you don't have to worry." Charlotte continued, giving him a small smile and pressing her lips to his cheek. She didn't want him to worry about the Island, or anything related to it. She didn't like seeing him worried.

"The tree," Daniel felt a slight laugh escape his lips. "The tree most defenitly broke my fall." Daniel agreed with a slight nod against her shoulder. "A-And the parachute that opened at the last second. That broke my fall, too. Almost broke my leg, too." he told her, feeling his eyes close once again.
"I won't let you go to sleep, Daniel."
Her lips against his cheek made his eyes close, and a soft satisfied sound escape his lips. He brought a hand up, preessing against her now damp hair. "I'm just so...tired." And he was, tired of the flashes, tired of the memories that he had no clue how he got them, of the racing thoughts and the confusing ideas. He was tired of simply being. But Charlotte...Charlotte made everything alright. She calmed the chaos. Made the things go away. She said she'd be there when he woke up. She wasn't going to leave, he told himself silently. "I just don't want you to leave." he murmured tiredly against her cheek. "I just--I just want you to stay here."

"I have to admit it was kinda useless jumping out of that thing. Frank did land it safely on the ground." She said with a small laugh herself. "So it was really no point in bailing and nearly getting ourselves killed."
She smiled slightly when his eyes closed, realizing just out tired he was. "Then go to sleep Daniel." Charlotte told him quietly, squeezing his hand again. "I'm not going to leave, I promise. You can sleep all you want and I won't go anywhere." She continued.
"I'll be here when you wake up."

"Then go to sleep, Daniel..."
Her words were so inviting. That yes, if he did go to sleep, she'd be right there. And he would be right there. There would be no Island or smoke monsters, or memories that didn't seem to be his. He laid his head on her shoulder, eyes staring at the fireplace. "I just...I'm just tired of thinking. I just wish I could shut it off for a while. I'm tired of--"
"If you would tell me how to work this damn thing, then maybe I could hurry! W-Wait--wait! Wait, I--I got it. Got it. Go! Go! Talk--talk I think it's--I think it's working--YEAH! Talk, it's working!"
The baby. The baby was crying agian, and the asian man stepped out of the shot. Bringing a finger to his lips he pleaded silently for the baby to stop. "Stop. Stop." he whispered almost out of fear, but for the first time in a while, he wasn't sure what he was afraid of. Was he afraid of the future? The frightening future with something called the internet and the Purge...the violent Purge...? The future where it would be too late? The future where they all died?
"This is useless! Alright? It's just useless! They're never gonna see this, Pierre. How do I turn this off? How do I turn it off?!"
Daniel jerked, blinking violently, bringing his hands up to his face until he noticed a body above him. He felt cushion-y carpet under him, and he jerked again, shooting up to sitting, although after he did, a wave of sickness traveled through his body. "W-What--" he started, but found his tongue thick and hard to move. His head spun, and he brought a hand up to it, until he felt the trickle of blood from his nose.
The Island. He had closed his eyes for a moment and---how long had he been out? Been gone? The thought swam around in his muddled brain, and it almost made him sick.
He found himself laughing almost insanely, though he wasn't sure why. Maybe it was fear that he was finally losing his mind...but if he was, then why did it all seem so painfully familer?

A look of pure concern crossed Charlotte's face when he abruptly stopped talking. Before she could react or do anything else, he was on the floor. She knelt beside him, noticng the blood now coming from his nose. Knowing she herself had to keep calm, she realized Daniel was having one of the flashes. The semi-unconsiousness, the nosebleed - he had explained it to her, even if she had never seen it before.
Placing her hands on either side of his face, she knew she had to get him to focus. "Dan - Daniel!" She said loudly, a slight part of her curious as to what he was seeing, what time period he was in.
"You have to focus Dan. Focus on the sound of my voice." She said in a softer tone, but loud enough for him to hear. She was beginning to worry even more - she hated seeing him like this, especially when she felt so useless as to what Charlotte could do.
She jerked back when he shot up, nearly knocking heads with him but pulling back at just the right moment so it wouldn't happen. He started to speak, but suddenly stopped again, and Charlotte was afraid for a moment that he had gone into another flash. She reached up and grabbed a few tissues from the box on the small table beside the couch, pressing them to his nose gently to try and stop the nosebleed.
With her hand - well, the sleeve of Dan's shirt - she rubbed her eyes slightly, forcing back the tears. Charlotte had never once cried in her life, and it wasn't about to start now. Even if she couldn't stand seeing Dan in pain, or suffering from something like he was.
"Daniel..." She murmured, her palm against his cheek again as her voice wasn't nothing above a whisper. "Are you all right?"

It was as if he was still there, however, Charlotte's voice filtered in violently, hands pressing against his face, and for a brief second, his brows narrowed deeply. Deep in the back of his mind, he knew he needed to focus. His breaths were harsh, until he locked eyes with her, trying to focus on the sound of her voice. His hands moved, nearly gripping the sides of her face. "There's--" he started, his tongue thick in his mouth. He felt himself swallow dryly, trying to gather any sort of wetness to his throat. "There's something wrong. They--they weren't supposed to leave. They--" His hands were shaking. "We shouldn't have left. They need us, we shouldn't--shouldn't have left."

She watched as he tried to talk, rooted to the place in the floor where she was kneeling beside him as he spoke of the island. He had to be joking. Then again, Dan hardly did joke about things this serious. She swallowed drly herself. "Who needs us Dan?" Charlotte asked softly. "Are you saying we have to go back to the island?" She said the words slowly, having a feeling she already knew the answer. She carefully wiped the blood from Dan's nose, watching him carefully now. "Do you want some water?" She offered weakly after a moment, noticing how hard it was getting for him to speak.

It hurt to swallow. It hurt to think. Every cell in his body seemed to ache like he had just been through hell. And maybe he had. Everything was twisting and turning in his brain, spinning around as he tried to grab the peices out, to shove them back together again. But it didn't work and all he ended up was a jumbled mess. "It--" he started, and then nodded as she offered to go get him water. When she came back with the glass in hand, he gladly took a sip, wincing at the feeling. "I was there. And--and I had been there before and it was like--it was like I knew, but I didn't know. It--" he narrowed his eyes. "I don't know how to explain it. It's--It's like when I saw the plane footage. I--she asked me why I was crying and...and I couldn't tell her why. I don't know why I was crying but...but I just was!"

Charlotte quickly retrieved the water for him, handing the cool glass to him, waiting for him to reply. When he did, it took her a moment to sort out what he was saying. "Why don't you tell me what you saw this time Daniel." She whispered, sitting across fom him where they still sat on the floor. Her eyes still held concern for him as well, afriad he might somehow lapse into another flash.
"It'll be all right Dan, I promise." She continued after a moment with the most of a smile she could manage, placing her hand on his shoulder this time as her thumb absentmindedly stroked the collar of his shirt. "We'll get through this. Together."
