"Yeah, I know that one. I know G'Day and shelia, but that's about the extend of my knowledge of Austraila slang." Alice laughed, folding her arms over her chest.
"I'd love to see some of the animals they have there. Eventually I'll go on a vacation there or something. Or live there sometimes. It'd be nice." She smiled. "I'd love to live somewhere by the sea - I've always loved the sea. Just not the jellyfish." She smirked, chuckling.
"Well, as long as you don't kill or injure yourself really badly. That wouldn't be good." Alice replied quietly, shaking her head. "I don't want to see you wheeled into the hospital on a stretcher all bruised up and broken tomorrow."

"You know Sheila?" Thomas asked with a laugh, "don't tell me someone tried to come onto you with the line 'G'day Sheila'... because that's just terrible." Aussie guys and their lack of originality. It was almost painful.
"The jellyfish are alright. Some of them are harmless" he pointed out. Most of them weren't... but some of them were OK. "But I'm sure Australia would love to have you."
Thomas sighed and shook his head, "Well, provided I don't go after Jack Shephard myself, then I shouldn't be wheeled in on a stretcher." He joked. "Really, he probably has an explanation as good as anyone's really. I shouldn't be so angry about it."

"Yeah, actually, this guy did. It was horrible, actually." She laughed, nodding. "I just kinda had to ignore him."
"I'm not to big on dangerous creatures though - or at least ones that can hurt you. I've seen the dangerous ones in an aquarium before though - they're kinda weird looking." She said, rambling slightly. "But if I do go, I'll have to make sure I look you up so you can show me around or something - if you plan on going back there."
"Just don't piss Jack Shephard off. The man had beaten up his own father over something - it was funny, but I felt sorry for him." Alice replied with a small sigh.

Thomas' polite smile dropped when she confirmed that some creep had actually tried that. "Well, I guess it's my turn to apologize on behalf of all Aussie men" he told her apologetically. "We're not all like that" he gave her an earnest look, "honestly."
Thomas rediscovered his smile after that, mentioning Australia again. "Yeah, I want to go back. I wanted to take the kid and just go back, you know? But Jack told me he stays here... and really, I just don't know what to do." His eyebrows raised about Jack and his father. "And that guy is supposed to be Claire's brother?" He asked, more to himself with wide eyes. "I'm sorry but I just don't see the resemblence."

"It's fine. It's not liek it was your fault the guy did it." She told him. "But I believe that you're not all like that. You seem quite nicer than him at least." She smiled.
Alice let out another sigh. "Maybe you should just go back anyway. I know it might seem like defeat, but I seriously doubt they're going to let you take the baby back - no matter how much you beg and plea." she spoke quietly, looking up at him. "Besides - there's always the chance that you'll get married and have another child. You never know." She shrugged, finishing off her soda and carefully tossing the empty can in the trashbin.
"Half-siblings. They share the same father, but different mothers." She corrected slightly. "But yeah, there really is no resemblance - but there doesn't have to be for them to be related."

"I'll take that as a compliment" Thomas said with a laugh. His brow furrowed about going back. It was all confusing for him. "I gave up last time, wouldn't it be the wussy thing to do to give up again?" He asked and shook his head. "So I'm supposed to just ignore one child for another child?" He snorted at the thought of getting married and having a new kid. "I'm supposed to settle down in Brisbane with a kid and a wife and be all happy with things?" He sighed and ran his hand through his hair, wincing with the pain of his knuckles when he did so. Bad idea.
"It was hard enough for me to find someone like Claire who'd put up with me. Someone doesn't have that type of luck twice" he said bitterly and looked to the ground.

"I'm sorry." She sighed, shaking her head. "I'm not good at giving advice. And I didn't say ignore your first baby - you would probably have some rights to see him, kinda like when parents are divorced - just maybe another child would ease your mind a bit." Alice said carefully, but sighed and shook her head again.
"Be careful with your hand." She muttered, seeing him wince out of the corner of her eye.
"Everyone out there had another half - yours obviously wasn't Claire, no offense or anything - so that means you still have one out there." She told Thomas. "My father taught me that as a little girl and somehow, it helps when you break up with someone or they break up with you - sort of like you and Claire."

"Thanks" Thomas said again, looking her in the eye this time lifting them gradually, at her soul mate like analogy. "It's nice" he kept talking, "to think that. I guess I'm just a bit of a pessimist." He chuckled, "I guess it's the artist in me. You should be glad you're not an artist. It comes with the burden of seeing the bad in everything... you know, perfectionism."
He smiled at her, "maybe another child might ease things someday..." he was starting to be won over to her way of thinking. "Just got to find that perfect girl first" he gave a quick glance to his hand and then back to her.

"I try to see the good in everything - people usually find me annoying because of it. I'm actually surprised you haven't run off in the opposite direction yet." Alice laughed, playing with a piece of fringe on her coat absentmindedly.
"The perfect one is sometimes hard to find - but you'll eventually find them - hopefully." She continued, looking back at him.

"That's good" Thomas grinned, "we're complete opposites then." He listened to her lightly insult herself as she seemed unsure of herself, playing with her clothing, he stopped her from doing it, putting out his own hand onto hers. "Now don't be like that. I can't imagine anybody that would go running from you..." except me a little corner of his mind uttered, making him cringe. He wasn't like that now, at least that's what he kept telling himself. He'd grown up now. "So what are you doing for the rest of your life?" he half-joked. He wasn't the type to use cheesy lines like that... well... not always, but what she said about the perfect one set him up for it.

She laughed. "Yeah, I suppose we are." Alice replied with a small smile, looking up as he slipped his hand into hers to keep her from playing with the fringe. "Sorry, I usually don't realize I'm doing something like that until someone tells me to stop."
Alice blinked at him for a moment, slightly unsure of what to say. Her lips twitched slightly into a smirk, realizing it was obviously a joke. Or was it? No she was confusing herself. "I have no immediate plans." She stated simply with a small shrug.

"Except to stay in L.A?" he asked her, eyebrows raising slightly "work with children?" Maybe that was only what she was doing now. "I hardly have plans myself," he said, even though it must have been obvious. "I mean, I'm in L.A on a painting contract just seeing if I can stand to have a relationship with my son."
He squeezed her hand lightly and gave it back to her. "After that I have no idea what I'm doing" he finished with a small laugh.

"Well, yeah. That of course. But I imagine if I ever move or go somewhere else I'll work with children anyway." Alice said, smiling slightly. "Too much fun."
"Well, if you go back to Australia, you could take me with you and show me around." She offered as a suggestion. "You've got me wanting to see it now." Alice laughed.
"But I don't know. If I ever get tired of Los Angeles, I might move back to Paris. Maybe Florida - or Italy, I hear it's really pretty there."

Taking her with him was pretty tempting, even if he was to leave tomorrow, which he didn't assume he would be doing. Not without Aaron anyway. "It's a deal" he offered, "soon as I go back to Australia, you're coming with me. And there's no way you can get out of it now," he joked. It was actually pretty easy to relax around this girl. And here he was thinking that all doctors might have the Jack curse and be painful to be around.
"There's a lot of art in Italy and France. It'd probably be good for a visit, but I'll always call Australia home."

She laughed. "I won't try to get out of it - promise. I want to go too badly now." Alice smirked. She was glad she had run into Thomas now - well, crossed the path to check on his fist after he had punched the tree. He was much more entertaining to speak with and such rather than most of the doctors back at the hospital.
"Yes, there is definately a lot of art. Then again, I just love to travel." She said simply. "Though I do have intentions to go and see the Mona Lisa in person one day."
