Thomas paced outside of Santa Rosa for some time, watching staff and visitors come and go from the front while he toyed with himself whether to go inside or not. He'd already taken the plunge and met Aaron, and now there was the chance that he'd see Claire, she'd tell him to keep the bloody hell away from her baby and then within an instant he'd lose everything again. Thomas didn't even know if he wanted Claire to accept him or not. Part of him didn't because he wanted an easy 'out' to the whole thing. He wanted a reason not to have commitment thrust upon his shoulders in any capacity. Perhaps him being here at all was an act of goodwill... but he was certain he didn't have much of it in the first place.
He drew a quick breath and entered quickly, passing the threshold as a point of no return and walked up to the desk. "Mr Shephard sent me here for a visit with Miss Littleton" he told the woman on the front desk. That was a lie. He hadn't spoken to Jack since yesterday, but he figured Jack owed him enough. The woman behind the counter looked around to check that nobody was watching.
"Name please?" She asked.
Thomas bit his lip, "Thomas Richardson. I'm the father of her baby. I'm here about Aaron."
"ID please?"
Thomas handed it over and the woman behind the counter took it with her to get it verified, after waiting a full twenty minutes at the desk, she returned his ID and indicated for him to follow her, he did feeling each step he took like another step toward his doom.
"Now no mentioning anything to make her upset" the nurse beside him said sternly, "Miss Littleton has been through a lot lately, but sadly you are the only visitor so far she's had from back home."
Thomas faked a smile as she opened the door for him and he stepped through it, not ready to see Claire again. He wasn't sure that just seeing him at all wasn't going to upset her.
