The wind whipped her hair around her face gently, causing it to sting her cheeks. Charlotte sat at the edge of the docks, her legs dangling over the side toward the water below. Her pale blue eyes - which remarkably matched the water - were watching the waves caused by the boats coming into the harbor. Whitecaps were farther out, caused by the wind that was blowing rather strongely that day.
It didn't bother her one bit.
However, she pulled her coat tighter around her, plunging her hands deep into her pockets. Her mind was a whirlwind - as usual - and she was trying to slowly pick out the thoughts that mattered most. She was thinking, deciding on several things at once and it obviously wasn't going well. She would've like to talked to Frank - he, along with Dan, were the only two people who could actually help her. But she had no idea where the pilot was, and was too lazy to go and lead a search for him.
Sighing, her gaze drifted up to the sky.

Miles came back out to the docks when completely sick of Leandra... that and just needing to breathe a little. He needed to get back to the island and fast. He felt like he was going insane here. Like each day was suffocating him more and more, even if he had people to mock and things to do... it all seemed to revolve around the Oceanic 815 crew anyhow. He was sick of them... he just needed them to get back.
There was someone else he needed to get back as well, and by the whisp of red-hair in front of him he knew he had found her. "Hey Charlotte!" He called, walking calmly up to her. "Frank is actually sober" he commented, "or so he says." He reached out and tapped her on the shoulder seeing if she would turn around.

Oh God. Just what I need - Miles to go and ruin my day even further. She thought to herself the moment she heard his voice from behind her. She hadn't spoken to him in a while, and wasn't looking forward to it because it seemed everytime she did, they'd end up pissing each other off so much they'd end up in some sort of stupid argument.
"Glad to hear here's not laying in a ditch dead somewhere then." She muttered, breifly glancing back at him. She reached up and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear with a sigh. "But what are you doing out here?"

"Frank wants a three way phone conversation. Apparently he feels like he's missing out on some big reunion even though I've only spoken to you and Dan together once." Miles rolled his eyes. "You'd think the last thing he'd want is for all of us to have to deal with one another again... but apparently..." Miles began, "him being off the booze has made him soft."
Miles regarded her briefly, eyes flicking over the woman. He was going to make a comment but he held his tongue. "So maybe you can just tell him how much you miss him and we can get back to not talking about the island ever again."

"Frank's always been like that. It's nothing new. Give me his number and I'll call him." She said quietly, glancing at him. She did really want to call Frank - without Miles being there to listen. She had things to discuss with the pilot that was really none of Miles' business. Sighing, she looked over at him fully for a moment.
"I'll tell him that and we can get back to not speaking at all if you'd like. Doesn't matter to me." Charlotte shrugged. She didn't really like Miles - they could be talking about the Island, or even the bloody weather and she'd still argue with him.

"Don't tell me you're mad at me" He said, his tone practically biting at her, "what upset that you beat me at pool?" He snapped sarcastically and took his phone out and dailed. "Yeah, Frank..." He said after a moment, holding the cell phone up to his ear. "I'm putting you on speaker."
Miles pressed a button and Frank could be heard through static over the wind of the sea and the bad line. "Charlotte? Miles?" His voice came gruffly.
"Yeah, we're here Lapidus" Miles answered him, "one big happy reunion, bar the nut job who's trying to recruit Charlotte here for the job of wiping his ass..."

"Oh, no Miles. You're my best friend in the entire world and I absolutely love you." Charlotte said sarcasticly, her tone slightly bitter. "Of course I'm mad at you - I stay mad at you."
"Hey Frank." She greeted in a softer tone, hearing the pilot's voice on the other end. She frowned when Miles mentioned Dan, breifly considering smacking him again. Since he was still standing, she punched his leg. "Shut that hole on your face before I do it myself you bloody idiot. You have no idea what Dan and I have been talking about - and it's obviously not that."

A strong laugh came over the phone line, as Frank could be heard enjoying their exchange. "So I see things haven't changed much from the Kahana." He said, sounding overjoyed that they haven't. "You know, I feel really bad that I'm not able to join you guys there in L.A. They've got me doing some flights all over the place. For some reason Oceanic has re-hired me, despite all the controversy."
"Good on you man" Miles told his absently, his eyes on Charlotte this time who's hair was clumping at the ends. He suddenly grabbed it and started ripping the strands apart, seperating them. "What is wrong with your hair?" He asked snidely, still holding the phone out with one hand.

"I wouldn't have gone back to work for them personally Frank. Oceanic's too good for y - ouch!" She began, but cut herself with a shout as Miles randomly began to tug on the ends of her hair. She grabbed her hair and pulled it around to the side, wincing slightly from Miles nearly ripping it out. "What the hell is your problem?" She hissed, glaring at him. "Try that again and I will shove you off this dock."
She grabbed the phone from Miles, speaking into it. "Frank, I swear, I'm honestly going to kill him." She stated, then looked back up at Miles with a wry smirk. "Or I'll have Leandra do it for me."

"You've been swimming" he noted, ignoring Charlotte's threats. She couldn't go two seconds without threatening him... or at least thinking about threatening him, it seemed. Chlorine. One thing that made Charlotte's hair worse, if possible. When Miles heard Frank's second laugh, he scowled.
"Oceanic pays a decent salary. And after the way we got screwed with Widmore, it's not a bad thing to a standard rate" Frank told Charlotte over the phone. "And who's Leandra? Not the Leandra from the 815 manifest right?"
"No one" Miles muttered and looked out to the sea, Charlotte could keep the damn phone. He wasn't in a talking mood.

"Thanks Captain Obvious!" She hissed darkly, narrowing her eyes at him as she continued to leave the phone on speaker.
"There's got to be better airlines out there than Oceanic though." She told Frank over the phone with another hatred glance toward Miles. She smirked.
"Yep. The same from Flight 815." Charlotte continued, watching Miles for his reaction. "She and Miles are in a 'relationship' if you could call it that."

"Well, that sounds like it would be good for Miles" Frank said to Charlotte even though Miles was still within earshot. He made more sense when he was drinking Miles thought.
"I've got to have someone to talk about the island with" Miles pointed out to Frank, "because Charlotte is trying to ignore any urges she has to go back."
"Go back?" Frank asked, his tone suddenly changing, "why would you want to do that?"

"He hates her." Charlotte stated.
She bit her lip when he mentioned the island. She had been thinking about that - but she wasn't about to go back on her deal with Miles. She had a plan forming in her mind too - she would need Frank's help with it too.
"Because's Miles is a moron." She told Frank when he asked why he would want to go back.

Frank chuckled on the other end. "Can you stop laughing for one second man?" Miles practically yelled at Frank over the phone. "And who said I hated anyone?" He snapped this time at Charlotte. Some reunion.
"Let's just think this through" Frank said... "Oceanic has put no resources into finding the island. Widmore has probably covered all his tracks by now... if not Ben Linus has probably done it for him. It's an impossible task, ain't it?" Frank said loudly over the phone with his Jersey accent.
"Yeah, it would be impossible" Miles snapped again, "if I hadn't already been in contact with Linus who needs us to get back there too."

"Well, as far as I know, you're still calling her No Name." Charlotte stated, rolling her eyes at him. "And just by the way your personality is - you hate everyone."
She narrowed her eyes at Miles again, completely ignoring Frank's little speech about it being impossible. "You talked to Linus? When?" She asked quickly, looking at him.
