"See that's the thing. I mean, I was going to say if you like the guy it doesn't really matter about the intimacy..." He sipped his coffee. "But that's the thing. What do I know? Any advice I give would probably be really wong anyway."

"That's probably the one most important thing to me in a relationship though Miles intimacy. I mean the little hugs, kisses, looks, holding hands, it's all special and means so much more to me than the act of sex itself" speaking to Thomas was confirming what she already knew about Miles, and it's a decision she will have to make and stick to it for her own good.
She had to get on with her life, she had to fix herself out and learn to live life without a man, if she could prove she could enjoy herself without needing a guy in her life, maybe one would come along when she least expected it to.
"The advice might not be so bad to the right person, unfortunately it's no the right kind of advice for me, but thank you for trying anyway" she replied softly with a weak smile.

Thomas shrugged. "Told you. I'm even worse at giving advice than I am at talking it" he gave her a dry laugh. "But I'm sure you already know what to do about the situation. Maybe it's the opposite advice. Maybe I need to give a real relationship a try and you need to just stay out of one for a bit longer." He took a larger sip of his coffee which was already loosing it's heat.

She had to laugh a little, what he was saying was making a lot of sense in many ways.
"You know, I think you're right Thomas" she said slowly, with a warm smile, "we should try it out and see how we get on" she continued.
With the way Miles had been treating her recently, maybe staying out of a relationship for a while was a good idea. It couldn't be any worse than her current situation that was for sure.

"You don't have to humor me," he said lightly, "I can take it." He was still thinking about this whole situation. With Jack... with Claire... with Alice...
"Do you think Jack will even let me see Claire?" He said quietly, changing the subject. Maybe it wasn't needed to get Jack's approval, but somehow he still felt intimidated by the man.

"I wasn't humouring you, I was actually being serious" Leah replied in soft tones. "I am wondering if the best thing for me right now, is me time and nobody else time, present company not included of course" Leah said quickly as she wouldn't want to upset him.
"I don't know" she replied honestly, but couldn't see why Jack wouldn't let him see Claire. "You can always ask, it wont do any harm now will it?" Leah replied softly.

"Of course. You have no idea how great it is to have another Aussie in this city. I can't see how you've stayed here for so long, but you have your father... i guess..." Thomas told her giving her the smallest of polite smiles. "Plus, we're missing the end of football season here" he pointed out, not sure that she cared about football but it was a little annoying not being able to get to any of the games.
Thomas sighed. He could ask Jack. But then why did he need that guy's permission? He hadn't known Claire when Thomas did. He hadn't been there before. If he was going to get all big brother protective on him... why now when he wasn't seeing Claire, apart from when he was seeing Claire in the past. No. Thomas would go alone. Claire could deal with him herself.

"Oh I think I know how good it is to have a fellow Aussie to talk to" Leah said with a grin. It reminded her of her home country which she loved even if she wasn't in love with the idea of going back after what had happened over there with her mother.
"Yes my father does keep me here, but if I was going to go anywhere..." Leah began and trailed off, not sure what he would think of what she was about to say. He'd likely think she was crazy. "If I was going to go anywhere, it would be back to the Island" she continued then instantly looked away from him. She wondered how he would take what she said. It had taken them three months to get rescued from that Island, and she wanted to go back.
