So he didn't want to watch a movie either she thought, shrugging her shoulders, since he never even bothered to reply to her question. She noticed him putting his jacket on however, "Leaving so soon?" she asked in slight sarcastic tones but with a bright smile.
She knew full well what he was looking for, but she was determined not to give into him. Just because she didn't have sex with him last night, didn't mean she would do it with him now. She was trying to start a new page, a new life, and respecting herself was a big part of that plan.
"Well whoever you need to speak to" she said with regards to this meet up. She didn't really want do it, she was certain it would all go wrong, but if he was prepared to get it organised with help, then she'd let him carry on. He knew the names of the "ghosts" she'd seen, so he didn't really need her help anyway.

Miles sighed. Caught out. "Feel free to tag along" he told her, only half meaning it. He was probably just going to go to the park or something. He looked over at her and wondered if she would get up and join him. "Just need to get some fresh air."
He rubbed the back of his head. "It's Linus' island anyway, or so the rumour goes. If anyone can get us there. He can." He'd better, or Miles would hunt him down like a dog... and all dogs got caught... eventually.

"Don't mind if I do, I'll treat you to breakfast" she said with a warm smile. If she wasn't going to have sex with him, and she wanted to be his friend of sort, then maybe using some of her payout on a breakfast wouldn't go wrong.
"And fresh air sounds good to me too" she said warmly, "I'll be back in a few minutes" she said as she ran into the bathroom and quickly showered down, fixed her hair, put on some basic make-up, threw on a dress and stepped back out into the main room.
She pulled her leather jacket out of the closet and put it on, wrapping it tightly around herself.
"Right, Linus" she hated him with a vengeance. There was just something about the guy she thought, she just simply did not like. "I'd rather not get involved with him myself, face to face" she said with a slight sour expression.

"Really?" Miles said sarcastically as he was waiting for her, "wouldn't have believed that you 815ers would have had it out for him." He stopped himself when she came out all dolled up. Betty. He shook his head and looked her over.
He was going to go out the door, but he wondered what he was doing, staying there and not sleeping with her last night. He took his jacket back off again and shut the door he'd just opened, grabbed her and kissing her, steering her towards the bed. They could always go out later.

"And why would we or are we supposed to like him?" she questioned, were they supposed to be grateful to Linus for something? Pretty much everything he had ever said to them was a lie, from introducing himself as Henry Gale to telling them the Freighter guys were there to kill them.
She made to follow him out the door, but next thing she knew he'd closed and took his jacket off again. She was going to ask if he'd changed him mind when he'd grabbed her and started kissing her, steering her toward the bed.
However she didn't kiss him back, she was resisting him, and finally she managed to break free from his lips "What are you doing?" she almost screamed at him, "I don't want this, you know that from last night" she continued, but she couldn't break free from his grasp.

Miles sighed and let her go. Why... why, why why, why, why... was he bothering to put up with this woman and this bad relationship if she wasn't going to put out? "Then what do you want?" He almost spat back at her. He was sick of playing this game. He didn't want a friend. He had enough friends he couldn't stand seeing.
He grabbed her hand and intertwined his fingers with hers. "I mean it Betty. This whole thing" he indicated between the two of them "doesn't make any sense." He pulled her onto the bed with him. "Unless you're in it for exactly the same reasons as I am."

"I want us to get to know each other better" she began, "I realised what I was doing before was wrong" she continued, she wanted to be his friend at very least, but somehow she didn't think that was even going to be possible.
She winced when grabbed her hand, "This charade you mean?" she snapped as he asked what was going on between them, "that's all it's been, I thought you could help me get over Sawyer, but I was wrong" she said in panicked tones, her heart was in her throat as he pulled her onto the bed with him. "What you doing?" she shouted again.
She really hoped he wasn't about to do what she thought he was going to do, because in many ways it would be her own fault, and she couldn't go to the police about it. If she hadn't been so quick to jump into bed with him in the first place those two nights previous, she probably wouldn't be in this situation now.

"What am I doing?" Miles shook his head and laughed callously. "Come on Leandra. You really think I'm not helping you "get over Sawyer"" he did the air quotes, "or whatever you're doing? I'm right here. Helping you get through this thing!" He practically yelled at her. "So why do you keep acting like we're not helping each other out here?" He asked, eyebrows raised. Now she was back down on the bed, he kissed her again slowly. Women always had to make simple things more complicated and it was pissing him off.

"Having sex to satisfy your hunger is not helping me get over Sawyer" she yelled at him, "showing love, care and concern is" she continued. "Being callous with me, sarcastic to me, forcing me into situations I've decided I'm not happy with, is not helping me" she continued to yell at him.
She wondered what exactly it was she was supposed to be helping him out with. "I wasn't under the impression I was helping you out with anything" she said in worried tones, unless he was referring to getting a free sex session when it suited him. Well it had suited her at the time, but she realised her mistake, and now she wanted to better herself. She was going to respect herself no matter what it took.
"Stop it Miles" she said again as he tried to kiss her again. Nothing about any of this was feeling right, not that it ever really did before.

"Whatever" Miles said getting up again. He didn't even know why he had bothered in the first place. This was all one big mistake. He hated the thought that she had to come back to the island. He wished he'd never have to see her again. The way it was supposed to be. The way it always was for Miles.
"You know" he said picking up his jacket, "I thought you could tell that I actually did care." He shot at her. "Why else would I waste my time here if I didn't care?" He wished he hadn't asked what she wanted from him. It wasn't an answer he wanted to hear. It wasn't an answer that he could actually provide. "But whatever Leandra, you win... I'm out of here."

She stopped shouting at him when he spoke again about actually caring about her. She really hadn't thought he did, not in the way she had expected him to, or wanted him to. But he was here, he'd stayed the night without expecting anything from her. Wasn't that a sign he wasn't so bad after all?
He'd even come over re her ghostly situation. She paused for thought. "Miles" she said softly as she stood up from the bed to walk to where he was and put her arms around his neck, "I honestly thought you were pretending, but you do care" she said quietly, as tears started to fall from her eyes.
"I'm sorry, please don't leave" she said, as she continued to stand behind him with her arms around his neck loosely.

Miles winced as she put her arms around him and tears fell from her eyes. It made him uncomfortable on levels he'd never known before. Half because he was expected to have some sort of relationship with this woman, or that's at least what Charlotte had confirmed the night before. Half because he hated it when people cried to him and expected him to comfort them or fix anything for them. He looked out for his own interests, no one elses.
His mouth opened but instead he just shook his head and didn't say anything. Oh jeeze. She wasn't expecting him to cry as well was she? Suddenly breakfast seemed like a good idea. He extracted her arms from him. "Let's get breakfast." He said, his eyes darted around for a moment, wondering how he could get out of this thing. Yeah... breakfast would probably do them good. "They got a good menu downstairs?" He asked.

She knew he wouldn't be comfortable with the hug or the tears, but it was the only way she could make him see, that she was sorry. She really hadn't thought he cared that much about her. However it would seem he cared in his own way. She decided she had to give him another chance.
Suddenly breakfast sounded good to Leah, and although she smarted a little when he extracted her arms from around him, she wiped her eyes and smiled at him, watery smile, but a smile just the same.
"Breakfast sounds good" she said and smiled, "I like the menu anyway" she continued, "Want to go down? I'll pay" she offered, after all she could afford it.

"Sure" Miles shrugged. He wasn't going to stop her from paying if she wanted to pay. It was her choice. He didn't want to talk about what just happened. He hardly understood it himself. How the hell did they go from not having sex to breakfast anyway? Whatever, he thought indifferently. He'd just go with it. The best thing to do with a Betty was let her get over her emotional mood swings herself and just go with it. Otherwise he could just be caught on the other end of a backhand slap... or worse...
He put his jacket on again, and opened the door, pressing his hand on her shoulder to force her out of the room. "Let's go."

She knew he'd have no objection to her paying for breakfast, but then she wouldn't have offered had she expected him to object. Although she was mystified as to how they went from him trying to force into having sex with him to having breakfast. It was rather quite mad, but she wasn't about to question it.
She was still in her jacket, so when when he put his jacket back on, she was ready to go, and allowed him to push her out the door.
They were down in the restaurant within minutes, and Leah walked to one of the empty tables and sat down. Taking the menu and passing the other to Miles with a smile. "Order what you want" she said kindly.
