"Sure" he said looking at the menu. "Who the heck eats noodles for breakfast?" He asked flipping through it. He thought about making conversation. Why not? He figured. "So Lapidus wanted me to meet up with your friend Charlotte last night. Seems she's too afraid to go to the island in case she breaks Dan's heart..." he flipped another page and shook his head. "Well, I'm not having the noodles. That's for sure."

Leah raised her eyebrow when he asked who ate noodles for breakfast, she was pretty certain most Asian's and people from the Far East did, "Well some people do I guess, or they wouldn't be on the menu" if they weren't selling, they'd take them off the menu she thought to herself.
"Charlotte cares about Daniel Miles" Leah replied softly, "Of course she wont want to do anything which upsets him, and going back to the Island would" she thought she may as well tell the truth even if he didn't want to hear it.
She looked through the menu herself, and decided on scrambled egg with toast and a cup of coffee. The waitress came over and asked for their order, "I'll have scrambled egg with toast and a cup of coffee please. The waitress wrote it down and then looked at Miles for his order.

"Whatever, I'm easy... anything." He said, sounding disgruntled to the waitress. "Same as her" he had to half yell at the woman when she wasn't getting the picture. He sighed when she left. "Look, I get that... I really do" he said about Charlotte, "but unfortunately if anyone is going to be going anywhere Dan has to be going too."
He didn't know what it was that Dan was freaking out over. Whatever it was had to be the product of a mind well off it's rails. "It's not like he has a legitimate reason for not going back either, he's probably just afraid he'll have to trump through the jungle again looking like he's supposed to be in a lecture hall at Oxford."

Leah had to look away from Miles when he all but snapped at the waitress, she looked up at her and gave her a look of apology as the waitress took their orders away.
"But why does Dan have to come too?" Leah asked defiantly, they didn't need him to come, did they? She still wasn't even sure about going back to the Island herself. She still had to think about her father.
She sighed, "So what's the reason that Dan needs to go back?" she asked, if it was upsetting Charlotte, she wanted to know about it, because Charlotte was her friend.

Miles stuck his elbows on the table and rubbed the bridge of his nose before looking at her. This whole thing was incredibly painful. He felt as if he had to explain this a thousand times and the idiots around him still weren't getting it. "Because Dan has been there before and for anyone to go back everyone has to go back." Really, it wasn't that difficult.
"So yes, as much as I'd want to leave the Genius behind to spend his days having his mouth wiped by a housekeeper, he's going to have to go."

"But why does everyone have to go back?" Leah asked, she just didn't get it. Why did they all have to go back, and why did they need Dan? Just because he'd been before? "So nobody can go back unless Dan does? That doesn't make sense"
"And we've all been there before, not just Dan" she added, her head was smarting trying to take this all in, she just couldn't get it.
The waitress had come back with their breakfast, Leah smiled and thanked her, and she went off to serve other people. The poor woman was probably upset at the way Miles had snapped at her.

"OK" he began laying his hands on the table for a moment, attempting to get his thoughts together. "Imagine you're a magical island and you've grown attached to all the people who have been on you before..." he began with a wry smirk. What the hell did she think he was supposed to answer with? He stuck a forkful of eggs in his mouth and shook his head. "I don't know why everyone has to go back" he answered finally. "All I know is that I believe Linus when he said it."

"I actually thought you were being serious there Miles" Leah said annoyed that he was being sarcastic to her again. Really what had she been letting herself in for with Miles. He would always have that 'jerk' streak in him.
There was that name again. She didn't like Linus nor did she trust him very much. "So because Ben Linus says it, we have to do it?" she questioned shaking her head.
She cut her toast into several pieces and picked a piece up with some egg and started eating her breakfast, realising after the first mouthful, just how hungry she had become.

"Nooooooo" Miles drew out the word for emphasis. "Because that's the only way we're going to get there, that's why." He felt like he was talking to an infant.
He held up a forkfull of his egg, "thanks" he said with a grin. "Anyway, nobody seems to understand that I don't want to have to believe Linus as much as the next guy, but I know that he knows what to do."

"Right, of course, because Ben is the power to everything" Leah said in sarcastic tones. She didn't like the guy and she didn't like the fact they needed him to get back there.
"Your welcome" she replied with a smile, looked like he was enjoying it, so that was good to know.
She listened to him talk about not liking Ben much either, but that he knows his stuff. Maybe he does, but he still creeped her out.
"Maybe you're right, but the least I see of him the better" she replied in sour tones.

"You don't know what you're talking about" Miles told her, "Ben is pretty much the guy who calls all the shots when it comes to the island... so yeah, I would say that when it comes to this he is the power to everything."
He stopped eating for a second to gulp some coffee. "And annoying as that is for everyone, I think getting to the island is worth it."

Yeah, yeah, yada yada Leah thought to herself, Island this, Island that, Ben this, Ben that. She was getting bored of it. Yes it was true a part of her missed the fascination of the Island after she got used to living there, but she still didn't want to leave her father behind, and she still didn't like Ben Linus.
"Fine, fine" she said rolling her eyes slightly, "Hail Ben, hang on until I go down on my knees and worship the almighty Ben" she continued in sarcastic tones.
"I suppose it is worth it, if you want it that badly" she replied with a small smile, as she continued to eat her breakfast, and then took a sip of her coffee.

"You know" Miles said with a smirk. "I actually like it when you get sarcastic." It was a change from her other attitudes of: stupid and agreeable. Oh... and Charlotte's bitchy protege. That was another one of her personalities he wasn't too keen on. He watched her over his coffee for a moment in careful interest.
Did he want it that badly? He supposed so. He wasn't used to wanting anything that badly though. "Sure... I guess it is worth it."

"I'm glad something I do pleases you" she said with a sarcastic smile, and continued to eat her breakfast and drink more of her coffee.
"Well if it's worth it then fair enough" she said, but didn't add on 'for you' like she wanted to, because she didn't want it badly enough to have to spend time with Ben Linus, the guy was a prize ass and she didn't want anything to do with him again.

((you're talking about Ben's prize ass? oh wait... )) "What's that supposed to mean?" Miles snapped. He wasn't in a great mood this morning and he had no time for games. Something she does pleases me? He ran the words over in his head. This had to be a mistake. This was one of the most annoying women there was... and basically breakfast and sex wasn't worth it. Well, maybe sex would have been worth it but he wasn't getting anything in that department and breakfast alone really wasn't worth it.
