Miles scowled as the sun came throught the curtains at the Roosevelt. He didn't live here, what was he doing here? Oh, yeah... he thought, with the realization of the past mornings where he'd been completely using Leandra/Betty/No Name for her room and company.
He didn't really have to much of a place to live in himself. He usually moved from one dive to the next. Didn't have a big inner-city apartment like Avery had, that was for sure, had being the operative word.
He still hadn't gotten around to Cortez last night too. Frank wanted him to go meet up with Charlotte and have a big happy three way over the phone. The man had better start drinking again or it was going to drive Miles insane.
Opening one eye first and then the other he stared at the wall and the window in front of him. Everything seemed normal enough. He was still living. That was one thing at least. He got up, careful not to wake the blond beside him and went to the bathroom, splashing water on his face and going and looking out the window for the first time. He hated mornings.

Leandra stirred when she felt movement from the bed, curious as to why she felt the movement, then realising Miles had stayed the night. Her heart was in her mouth, as she quickly tried to think if she'd allowed anything to happen, then calmed when she remembered all they had done was talk and watch cartoons before falling asleep.
She watched him for some time as he went to the bathroom and then stood looking out the window. She sat up on the bed, and looked at the wintry sun shining through the window. It was bright, maybe a little too bright. She shielded her eyes, and noticed she had slept in her clothes. She hadn't even changed into her night wear.
She looked over at him standing by the window and cleared her throat before talking, "Morning Miles" and then stood from the bed and poured herself a fresh orange juice from her mini bar. "Sleep well?" she continued with a smile.

Miles cast his gaze over to her. He hadn't slept with her last night, but he realized he didn't even really want to. Not that he'd turn it down if she was going to offer it, but frankly all the chase was taken out of the game and Miles was bored. He was fine being there though... it was a bit like a stale relationship he never had. Where each person tolerated the other and had no idea why the heck they were doing it.
He ignored her question and went on to questioning her. "What about you? Any hauntings during the night? You didn't pop any more pills, right?" He came and sat down on the bed again. "Another blissful day in L.A" he said suddenly, his voice full of sarcasm and his eyes darting to the window.

She noticed how he ignored her question and fired one right back at her, but instead of arguing with him about him ignoring her, she just smiled, "I slept better than I have for a long time" she began, "and no, I didn't pop any more pills, didn't have any need to" she continued.
She hadn't even had any hauntings which surprised her, she thought she'd be having dreams about Charlie and Boone for weeks to come. But she hadn't. "No, and I didn't have any hauntings either" she looked at him, wondering what the hell they had now. He didn't sleep with her, not that she would have let it happen, yet he still stayed the night. Leah was beginning to wonder if he had ulterior motives. Not that he'd tell her.
"Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit" Leah said when he spoke of another blissful day, "how do you know it wont be blissful for most people?" she asked curiously. Just because a day wasn't blissful to him, didn't mean it wasn't blissful to others. Not that she'd had many blissful days herself. Los Angeles was a very daunting place.

"Actually, that's not exactly true" Miles brought up about sarcasm, "I can think of a lot of other 'forms of wit' that don't even get close to the standard of sarcasm." He let out a wry laugh as he closed his eyes and leaned back on the bed, tempted to just fall back to sleep. "Nothing is blissful about this place." He couldn't imagine what bliss was if it wasn't for the island. "And all those that think otherwise are just kidding themselves." She had to be stupid for not wanting to go back to the island. Was there really anything here for her? For anybody?

She had to seriously think about this whole going back to the Island thing. If it hadn't been for her father, and not having seen him in all that time, she may have been tempted to go back, maybe it hadn't been such a bad place after all.
But those polar bears and the smoke monster, they were very scary things, and it was why Leandra was so pleased to be rescued. She knew Miles thought she was stupid for not wanting to go back, but if her father weren't around, then maybe, just maybe she'd think about it seriously.
"Really now?" she replied about the sarcasm thing, "What other forms of wit do you know of then? I'm dying to know" she said a little sarcastic, but also a little intrigued as to what other forms of wit he was referring to.
"Well I have to put my hands up and admit, my days are hardly blissful since I came...." then stopped herself in her tracks, was she about to say what she thought she was going to say? If she said that, Miles would instantly jump on her. "since the crash" she said instead, kicking herself mentally for not choosing her words more carefully.

"Came what?" Miles shot immediately at her. What was she going to say? Came to her senses? Came into the Oceanic money? Came WHAT? It was annoying when he didn't get the full story. That was when he remembered the money. "So what are you going to do with that nice little settlement from Oceanic?" He asked her curiously. "You're lucky you know. Widmore sold us down the creek. We only got the amount he'd given us upfront because we brought you guys back." He wished they didn't, but what could he do about it now?

Damn she thought, he'd caught it and jumped at her like she knew he would. There was no point in denying it any longer. "Alright, alright, since I came back from the bloody Island" she said in exasperation. "Happy now?" she asked him, "But I don't want to go back because I can't, I miss my father. I came to Los Angeles for my father, I can't go back there and not see him, and he's got too much tied in Los Angeles to just up and leave and come with me" she explained as she rambled slightly.
She couldn't believe she'd let her guard down like that over going back to the Island. She thought she'd had it covered well, but Miles was like a pit bull he got the information and jumped at it.
"Haven't done anything with the money to be honest, getting the money doesn't mean a damn to me, or change what happened, it's festering in my back account, and probably will for some time" she said in a couldn't care less tone. "Sorry about what Widmore done to you guys though, hey feel free to have some of my share" she offered casually.

Miles smirked. "So you do want to go back to the island." He meant it as more of a statement than a question. And he didn't want any money from her, unless it was to help them get back to the island, which he knew she would come around to. "Widmore will get his own" he said with a half growl, confident in it. "But as for now, we should just probably enjoy this blissful day" he said with mock enthusaism and a grin.

"So shoot me down in flames" Leah said in mock annoyance, "Yeah I don't suppose it be so bad, it's gotta be better than what I've been faced with since we got rescued, but I just don't know if I could leave my father" she meant it too. At least she wouldn't think about going back until she'd spent some quality time with her father, then she might seriously think about it, providing they could get back home again.
At least being prepared for landing there, she could make sure she had plenty of fresh clothes, and food and drink she liked. She shook her head slowly thinking about it, her heart was telling her it was good, her head was telling her she was stupid.
"Well I hope Widmore does get what's coming to him" she said it with venom in her voice, not just because of what he had done to Miles, but to Charlotte and Daniel as well, in a way they were all her friends now, and Widmore was a jerk for treating them the way he did.
"So what kind of fun did you have in mind for this 'blissful day'" she said using her fingers for quotation marks. "I mean I could always take a trip to the bank and start to use some of that money" and she wasn't even thinking clothes shopping, she was thinking a theme park or something, if he would be into that kind of thing. Somehow she was feeling rather childish today.

"Take him with us" Miles offered. Heck, anything if it would get everyone back to the island. "It really depends on what you mean by blissful" he decided, "I've got to go tell Cortez about the asshole she'd been dating who has no idea how he died. That ought to be 'blissful'" he started sarcastically, "hopefully that yahoo Lapidus leaves me alone for the day and doesn't expect me to have any more reunions with Charlotte and Dan." He continued thinking about what else was on his agenda. "Oh, yeah and while we're at it we should probably arrange a get together for some of those 'cancellations' and you 815ers to see what occurs. It should be very amusing." He smirked. "So what did you have in mind?"

"I'm not sure my father could just up and leave, but I'd be sure to mention, maybe he could do with a holiday" she said with a smile, at least that way, she got to spend time with her father, and got to get back to the Island, and have Miles as some sort of a friend at least.
"Well if you have to see Cortez, you might not have time for what I was thinking" she replied with a bit of a childish grin. "Yeah I suppose we do have to organise something, but I'll need help with that Miles, I'll feel stupid trying to organise it by myself" she said in reference to getting the cancellations she'd met together with some of the survivors.
"What did I have in mind?" she repeated his own question back to him, and then sort of giggled, "You probably wouldn't believe me, but I was thinking of going to some sort of theme or amusement park" she said with a grin, "Don't ask, I just feel incredibly young at heart this morning" she continued with a gentle sigh.

"An amusement park?" He queeried, "well, good luck with that." He was actually hoping she was going to suggest something else that they could do withoutgoing outside, but he had to admit that amusement parks weren't really his thing.
"As fun as it is watching people enjoy themselves..." He stated, not meaning it. "I don't really fit in at places like that." He was actually glad she was feeling better, but no one was roping him along on any adventures he didn't want to go on and that was that. "Maybe I'll get the names from Lapidus and see just how many of them are in L.A at the moment. The boys at Inglewood should be able to give me a hand."

Leandra giggled a little, she was feeling much better, and she knew amusement parks wouldn't really be his thing, but she did wonder what else he was expecting her to suggest instead.
"Well I didn't think it would be your thing somehow" she replied softly with a little laugh. "So what were you thinking I was going to suggest?" she asked, because she had no idea, and if he didn't want to go out, there was only one thing he was thinking about, and just because she didn't have sex with him last night, didn't mean she'd have it with him now.
"Well there's a first time for everything and maybe you could start to learn, but I wont push you, we can always just stay in and watch a movie?" she suggested instead. The money had festered in the bank long enough already, so a little longer wouldn't do much more harm.
"If you could do that, that would be a good help. I'm still not sure how it's going to go, I mean I'd like for some of the other survivors to see them so I know I've not been imagining it or anything, but I still think it will be awkward getting them all together in one place" she explained in worried tones.

Or here's an idea Miles thought to himself, how about I just get out of here before you suggest any other stupid ideas? He scowled and got up, throwing on his jacket. "We can't exactly have an official Oceanic bash, but there's nothing stopping us from throwing an unofficial one." He really didn't have the patience to do something like that though... no matter how interesting getting everyone in one place was. The point of it was getting everyone to go back to the island though, something he would need Ben for. "Look, I've got to talk to some people first. They might be able to get this started."
