Miles sat at a stool at the bar of the Stone Pony, waiting for Charlotte like he said he would, although now she was nursing Dan he wasn't even sure that she'd come. She did want to get back to the island though... it just depended on how bad she wanted it.
He sipped a bottle of beer quietly, listening to the chatter around him. He was just having one drink for the heck of it, he was in a bar, and if he sat there without a beer in his hand it might look odd. He thought about the recent events. He slept with no name 815-er the other day which was... Miles didn't finish that thought. He didn't know what that was. Not like she was even his type anyhow.
He wondered if Dan was still seeing visions of the future. He wondered if Ana Lucia was supposed to be dead and why fate didn't just finish the job. He wondered if Sawyer was going to come back so he could rile him up some more.
He took another sip of his beer and looked around at the other patrons.

Leandra wasn't even sure why she was ending up in the Stone Pony bar. She knew the last time she had spoken to Charlotte they said they would arrange to meet up for a drink, but she hadn't phoned Charlotte to arrange anything and Charlotte hadn't phoned her either. Leah was actually too embarrassed to phone Charlotte after what happened with Miles the other day. Being faced with either of them, she wouldn't be sure where to look.
But she couldn't get over her hang up with Sawyer, it was eating away at her. Why the hell did she have to love someone she couldn't even bloody well have anyway? So what does she do? She sleeps with the first guy who just happens to pay her a little bit of attention and he treats her like a common whore. She was down and depressed, and decided a night of good drinking was in order.
Hair piled up onto her head, and wearing her best Gucci off the shoulder red sequined satin top and black satin pants she opened the door to and walked into the bar. She didn't look around, she just walked right up to the bar and ordered a vodka and coke, then she went to take her seat. As she looked around and saw him sitting there, she blanched, and actually dropped her drink.
"Fuck" she said quietly, but not too quiet that the bar tender didn't hear her.
"Let me get you another Miss" he said in very kind tones with a smile. "Thank you so much" she said smiling back at him, her whole body shaking. She didn't know what to do. Should she go to him? Or should she sit at a table near him and let him come to her? Or should she just sit as far away from him as possible?
The truth was, she couldn't help but be attracted to trouble, and she decided on sitting beside him. She wanted him to know that the other night hadn't phased her in the slightest. "Mind if I sit here?" she asked with a smile but didn't wait for a reply, "Tough, I am anyway"

Miles looked over the woman as she came and sat beside him. You have to be kidding me! he thought and shook his head. When he finally got over the recognition of it being the woman from the other day... no name... he stared up at her and blinked a couple of times.
"Do I know you?" He asked pointedly, yet coldly. He knew exactly who she was. You didn't sleep with someone, get slapped and then walk out angrily without remembering that someone's face... but that was the last thing he wanted her to know. He almost wanted to forget the entire thing ever happened.
He relived for a second that moment of passion when she was digging her nails into his back and smirked in spite of himself. He didn't want to forget the whole thing never happened, he just wanted to replace her face with someone elses. That would be a better choice. He imagined Charlotte for a second and shuddered. Not a better choice.
He took another sip of his beer and eyed her casually as if he still didn't recognize the woman.

He was playing it cool she decided, obviously making out he didn't know her, or didn't remember her, but that was alright. She was tougher than he thought. She wasn't going to let it get to her. In fact, if that's the way he wanted to play it, then she would play it that way too. She knew he knew her, because his facial expressions when she sat down gave it away.
Do I know you?...She shrugged, "I don't know, do you know me?" she questioned back with a sly smile. "I'm not sure if I remember you from somewhere" she taunted. She was back in bed with him that day and she remembered how he had run his fingers through her hair, and how she had dug her nails into his back. It was a definite moment of passion, but one which she had to forget she guessed, as nothing was going to happen here with him. Unrequited love with one guy, treated like a whore by another. It was just wonderful, wasn't it?
She knocked back her vodka and coke and beckoned to the bar tender to give her another, she took a sip from her second glass, by the time she left here, she knew she was going to be the drunkest she had been in a long, long time.

Why am I here again?
Charlotte repeatedly asked herself that question as she slipped through the door to the Stone Pony. Last time she had been here, she had gotten completely drunk on her ass, Miles having to take her back to her hotel. Now she was here again, and if she got drunk this time, she would just pass out on the floor. She didn't want to wake up with Miles in her room again.
Shaking her head, she darted around several people her eyes scanning the bar where she knew he would be. She just had the gut feeling he was here. Spotting him toward the end of the bar, she was slightly surprised when she saw the familiar crop of blonde hair with him. Leandra, the name clicked in her mind. Apparently she had gotten with Miles, by the way they were looking at each other.
Silently, she slid into the seat on the opposite side of Miles, quietly ordering a simple glass of ice water. She was going to stay away from the alcohol if she could help it. Taking a drink of water, a smirk spread across her face as she turned toward the pair.
"Well, well. Look who's here."

He saw her downing her liquor, and grinned in amusement. It was time to stop playing it coy. "So what? You're here for more?" He asked, in referrence to the other day. If she was hanging around just to sleep with him again, it was pretty sad... but it wasn't as if he was going to say 'no'. He wasn't that much of an idiot.
Miles continued to drink a little at a time, nonchalantly surveying the room again. He turned back to her again, "or are you here to swap life stories?" he asked her condescendingly. He still didn't buy her whole 'I like you and I want to get to know you' crap.
Miles wouldn't even know what to say if he was asked to bare his soul to this woman. There was nothing he could say that anyone else would understand. There was no way to get across who he really was...
Miles snapped his head towards the redhead when he heard her voice. It sounded mocking. The last thing he needed was Charlotte mocking him. Miles looked at his watch. "I was wondering if you were going to show."

She noticed his grin when she downed her drink, well was that a good sign or what? She just had to wonder for now. She wasn't even sure she should allow herself to be with him again, but the truth was, she was so lonely, she was desperate for some male attention. She knew it would never be love, but if she wasn't going to get love, she damn well was going to accept some sort of attention until love came along.
So what? You're here for more?....She shrugged and semi smiled at him, "No actually, I was here to get pissed because I felt like drowning my sorrows, but if you're asking" she teased lightly with a seductive smile. Why was she doing this anyway? Wouldn't she have been better to just leave well alone? Leandra and trouble just went together.
or are you here to swap life stories?...."Well I dunno about that, but how about you tell me more about what it is you do, I'm intrigued, I just don't know enough about it, I'd sure love to know more" whether this was the right thing to say or not she couldn't be sure, but her tongue got her into bother with him before and she handled the lashings, she could handle them again if need be.
Leah blushed furiously when she heard the familiar voice of Charlotte ring in her ears. God! She thought, she wasn't even sure she could look at Charlotte, but she wasn't about to ignore her either.
"Hey Char" she said quietly with a wave of her hand, knocking back her second vodka and coke and asking for another.

Charlotte chuckled softly.
"Yeah, I showed. Don't act so surprised." She muttered, nursing her water as she leaned her head to one side, looking at Miles. She folded her arms across her chest, brushing hair off her shoulders gently. She looked around Miles and flashed a smile at Leandra.
"Hello." She greeted. "It seems you two have gotten together since I last talked to you." She observed, looking at the pair. "Unless I'm seeing things, that is." She added, glancing toward Miles.
"Remind me why I'm here again?"

"You're seeing things" he growled, not wanting to be bothered by the blond annoyance beside him any longer. He had more serious things to worry about now.
"You're here because we're going to find Ben and we're going to get back to that island..." Miles wasn't playing games any longer. He was sick of just talking about it. He needed to find Ben. He'd gotten some information from Penelope Widmore but the bastard was too hard to find when he didn't want to be found.
Somehow just being around Charlotte made him ache for a stronger drink. Instead of just sipping, he took a large gulp of his beer and wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. "So, another... what was it?" he asked Charlotte, "that chick drink?"

Miles had totally ignored her when she spoke this time, it was like she wasn't even there, but maybe that was what he was trying to do. Block her out. Well it didn't matter, she could live without Miles talking to her, if that's the way he wanted to play it, it was fine with her.
Instead she didn't bother prompting him to speak again, instead she gave Charlotte a warm smile, "It might look like we're together, but we're sadly not" she explained. She wanted to talk to Charlotte about it so much though, she gave her a pleading look and then stood up. "I'm just away to the ladies" she said quietly and made her way there.
She hoped Charlotte would follow her in, because right now, Leah didn't know what to do for the best. She was certainly very confused, and she couldn't think of anybody better to talk to about the other night than Charlotte. Although at the same time, Charlotte did warn her.

"For the second time, it's called a White Russian." She said slowly, blinking at him. She took a drink of water and caught Leanadra's look, giving a slight nod to her.
"And I've changed my mind Miles. I'm not going back. Not right now, anyway." She said quietly before standing. She wanted to talk to Leandra for a minute without Miles. Absentmindedly pulling on the edges of her t-shirt, she looked back at him.
"Ladies room for me too." Charlotte told him before following the way Leandra had went. She stepped into the bathroom, glancing at Leandra as she shut the door. Making sure they were alone, she faced her.
"Alright Leah. What's up?"

Leah just smiled at Charlotte telling Miles the name of her drink again. Typical of men she thought, they never remembered anything. She never said anything, but smiled in recognition when she heard Charlotte tell Miles she had changed her mind about going back to the Island. It wasn't her conversation, but she wondered how Miles would take it.
Anyway Charlotte understood her look and had indeed followed her into the ladies room. Thank God Leah thought to herself when she watched as Charlotte made sure they were alone. She smiled slightly and then put her hands on her head and made to tear her hair out.
"I don't know what I've done" she began and looked all around her, took a deep breath and carried on, "Miles and I got together the other night, but, well as much as it was enjoyable, it was so tense at the same time, he basically treated me like a common whore" she explained, she could feel tears biting at the back of her eyes again.
"I slapped him and pushed him out my room, but I don't know, I still seem to have this stupid attraction to him, but he's hardly even acknowledging I'm there, I should probably just go?" she was rambling, but that's what Leah did when she was feeling down and had a bit to drink. She just hoped she was making sense, and that Charlotte could help her in some way.

Charlotte couldn't help but stifle a slight laugh.
"First of all, take a chill pill and possibly stick to water for a bit, instead of alcohol. Trust me, I've learned from experience." She smiled. "Second, did I not warn you about him? He's a jerk, and you therefore act like one, even if you sleep with him." She stated.
"Now," She began again, leaning against the sink and crossing her arms. "You can either go back out there, face him, and ignore him like he's doing you, or you can leave. It's honestly up to you, but I would go with the former." She suggested.

When she saw Charlotte stifling a laugh, Leah felt like doing the same, in fact when Charlotte told her to take a chill pill, Leah actually did laugh. She couldn't believe she had been such a fool the other night, but more so, she couldn't believe she was getting so wound up about him ignoring her tonight.
"I know you warned me" she said rather sheepishly after she stopped laughing, "But I couldn't help it, guess I'm just attracted to trouble or jerks, hell I'm just as bad as he is for letting it happen in the first place" she rambled again. Charlotte was right, and she was so glad to have such a straight talking friend. Charlotte told it how it was, and she wouldn't have her any other way. She smiled at her.
So what should she do? Charlotte said she should stay and ignore him like he was doing to her, or she could go. But what would make her the bigger person? Leaving or staying and sucking it up? She smiled again "What would I do without you Char?" she asked quietly. She'd made her choice, she'd stay and suck it up. "May as well stay and face the music and yeah maybe a little less alcohol might help, but I've only had two" she said trying to defend herself then laughed.

"It'll be fine. He'll eventually get over the fact that a girl actually kicked him out and he'll start talking again. Especially after our conversation tonight as well. You're welcome to join in." She replied, gazing at her reflection in the mirror.
"Glad you're staying then." She smiled slightly, pulling the hairtie off her wrist and using it to pull back her hair out of her face. Charlotte looked back over at Leandra. "Just don't worry about it. He's a moron, and eventually he'll figure that out too. I've told him enough that he is." She chuckled rather darkly before heading for the bathroom door. "Ready?"
